The Town of Cutler Bay raised $16,660 for local community programs and nonprofits during its 18th annual Cutler Bay Open Charity Golf Tournament on Sept. 12.

The tournament, held at Redland Golf & Country Club in Homestead, featured an 18-hole scramble, raffles, a 50/50 raffle, mulligans, a best-dressed competition, a luncheon and an awards ceremony, according to Miami's Community Newspapers.

Proceeds benefit the Cutler Bay Community Fund, which supports local programs and nonprofit organizations serving residents in education, community beautification, environmental protection, culture and social services.

"The town extends its sincere appreciation to the sponsors whose generosity made this year's tournament possible," Town Communications Director Rod Gibson said in a statement.

The event drew support from 16 sponsors, including the office of Miami-Dade County Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins, Baptist Health, Kaufman Lynn Construction, BrightView Landscape Services, Land Rover South Dade and Longitude Surveyors LLC.
