Miami-Dade Fire Rescue offers a free, two-hour emergency training course to any community group of 12 or more people, and Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay organizations can schedule one by phone or email.

The program, called HELP (Health Emergency Life Protection), teaches adult and pediatric hands-only CPR, automated external defibrillator operation, early stroke recognition, tourniquet use to stop bleeding, and how to clear a blocked airway. Participants receive an American Heart Association Family & Friends CPR certificate and a completion certificate from MDFR. The course is open to anyone 13 and older.

MDFR's HELP Team conducted a session for Miami-Dade County government employees on Tuesday, July 15, with participants practicing chest compressions on mannequins, according to the department's official account on X.

No session is currently scheduled in Palmetto Bay or Cutler Bay, but neighborhood associations, churches, schools and workplaces can request one at any time.
