The Deering Estate will host two nights of short film screenings next month as part of the 25th Miami Short Film Festival.

The festival runs Friday, Nov. 13, through Sunday, Nov. 15, across three South Florida venues. Two of those nights land at the Deering Estate Visitor Center Theater on Saturday, Nov. 14, and Sunday, Nov. 15, as WLRN first reported. Both Deering evenings begin with a cocktail reception at 7 p.m. and screenings at 8 p.m., according to the festival's ticketing page.

The Sunday Deering program, titled "Wild at Heart," features five short films running about 77 minutes. Directors include Nicole Lipp ("Big Bad Yucky Monster," USA), Amélie Hardy ("A Wolf in the Suburbs," Canada), Mehdi Ouahab ("Asphalt," France), Jorge Parra Jr. ("¡Que Suene La Banda!," USA) and Isabel María Monge Guerrero ("MA-MA," Spain). All films in languages other than English screen with English subtitles.

The festival also screens at O Cinema South Beach and Silverspot Cinema in downtown Miami. Organizers said in a statement the event offers "three days of curated screenings, filmmaker Q&As, special events and networking opportunities, all centered around the art of the short film."

The Deering Estate and the Miami Short Film Festival have partnered on screenings before. A 2019 Community Newspapers listing described an earlier series at the estate, at 16701 SW 72nd Ave., that paired curated short films with post-screening Q&As.

Tickets cost $20 for general admission and $16 for students, seniors and military members. They are available online only. A three-day all-access pass covers screenings at all three venues.

Parking at the Deering Estate is free in the Visitor Center lot on SW 168th Street, west of 72nd Avenue. The event is held indoors.

The festival is sponsored in part by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and Cultural Affairs Council and the Miami-Dade County mayor and Board of County Commissioners.
