Palmetto Bay residents can enter a student photo contest, visit a veterans art exhibit and help seal a community time capsule this fall as the village wraps up its yearlong #PBCELEBRATES250 campaign honoring the nation's 250th anniversary.

Earlier Events Marked the Campaign's First Months

The village launched the campaign in January with monthly events and programs. Several have already taken place, including a community picnic in March, a "250 Trees & Treats" giveaway in April, a Veterans Park groundbreaking and a National Night Out celebration Aug. 4 at Coral Reef Park.

Photo Contest, Art Exhibit and Time Capsule Ahead

The remaining schedule, posted on the village's campaign page, includes a student photo contest in October themed "What America Means to Me," a Veterans Portraits art exhibit and a live concert with food trucks in November, and a community time capsule with a commemorative plaque unveiling at Village Hall in December.
