Plans filed with Miami-Dade County show a 45,706-square-foot Tesla collision and paint center could rise on 5.1 acres near Cutler Bay.

Scannell Properties and Hernandez Development submitted the proposal for the facility, which would include vehicle repair and service areas, a dedicated paint shop and parts facilities, the South Florida Business Journal reported on Sept. 16. The building would also receive a Tesla-themed exterior, according to Not a Tesla App, which described the center as equipped for structural and cosmetic restoration.

Property Acquired Months Before Filing

The developers acquired the property several months ago, according to the Business Journal report by real estate editor Brian Bandell. The exact street address of the parcel has not been disclosed in available filings. County officials are now reviewing the plans.

Second Tesla Repair Site in the County

The project would be the county's second planned Tesla collision center. The first, a 26-bay repair facility in Miami Gardens, was scheduled for a city council vote on June 24. The outcome of that vote has not been confirmed in public records.

Architect and Developers on the Project

Little Diversified Architectural Consulting is the architect on the Cutler Bay-area project, according to the Business Journal.

Scannell Properties, founded in 1990, is a national developer of industrial, office and multifamily buildings. The company has completed 615 projects totaling 150 million square feet across the U.S., Canada and Europe, according to its development partner Alston Construction. Hernandez Development, established in 2002, is a South Florida-based firm operating under Hernandez Holdings.

Tesla's Growing South Florida Footprint

The filing comes as Tesla expands its South Florida presence. The company launched its Robotaxi autonomous ride-hailing service in Miami on July 3, making it the first city outside Texas and California to receive the program.
