Cutler Bay's Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center has five performances scheduled across three stages in August, with tickets starting at $35 and topping out at $80 for VIP seating, according to the venue's August schedule.

The month opens Saturday, Aug. 8, with the 31st International Ballet Festival of Miami on the Main Stage at 8 p.m. The program features dance companies from Europe, South America and the United States. Tickets run $35 to $45.

Two shows share the evening of Friday, Aug. 14. On the Main Stage, Classic Albums Live performs Guns N' Roses' 1987 debut Appetite for Destruction note for note at 8 p.m. Tickets are $45 to $55, with $65 VIP seats that include table seating and a complimentary drink. The show is recommended for ages 13 and older. Classic Albums Live, a Toronto-based touring company founded in 2003, stages about 150 concerts a year; musicians wear all black and don't speak between songs.

Down the hall in the Lab Theater that same night, Miami-based Syncopate Collective opens a three-performance Salon Series at 7:30 p.m. The run continues Saturday, Aug. 15, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 16, at 3:30 p.m. Company artists Deja Darbonne and Cecilia Benitez each debut a world premiere exploring themes of transformation, identity and belonging. Tickets are $35.

The final weekend brings two more productions. Siempre Flamenco presents Light and Shadow, its newest original work, in the Black Box Theater on Saturday, Aug. 29, at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 30, at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 day of show.

Also on Saturday, Aug. 29, at 8 p.m., pianist and vocalist Michael Cavanaugh takes the Main Stage with The Music of Billy Joel & Elton John, backed by a symphony orchestra. Billy Joel handpicked Cavanaugh to star in the Broadway musical Movin' Out, where he logged more than 1,200 performances over three years and earned Tony and Grammy nominations. Billboard Magazine has called him the new voice of the American Rock and Roll Songbook. Tickets range from $40 to $70; VIP tickets are $80 and include table seating and a complimentary drink. VIP seats must be purchased in pairs. The show is recommended for ages 13 and older.
