Ricardo De Melo Gomes is running for mayor of Cutler Bay with a campaign focused on maintaining infrastructure, improving mobility and public safety, and managing growth.

De Melo Gomes says on his campaign website that he has lived in the town since 2004. He describes himself as a Florida-licensed builder who studied architecture in Europe, and cites volunteer work coaching youth soccer and connecting young people with educational resources.

His campaign argues that maintaining existing facilities should come before allowing them to deteriorate. He points to sidewalks, parks and other neighborhood infrastructure as matters that deserve consistent attention from town government.

De Melo Gomes also calls for careful spending, more responsive communication with residents and development that benefits the community. He has pledged to donate the mayor’s salary to a registered charity serving Cutler Bay residents if elected.

The Town Clerk lists him among four qualified candidates for the Nov. 3 mayoral election. The office is open because Mayor Tim Meerbott is term-limited. This profile draws on De Melo Gomes’ published campaign statements; his priorities and salary pledge are proposals, not actions already taken in office.
