Cars carrying Westminster Christian School's Class of 2027 will parade through the Palmetto Bay campus Monday morning, Aug. 17, marking the first day of their senior year with a tradition the school has held for years.
The annual senior caravan kicks off at approximately 8:05 a.m. after students gather in their vehicles at 7:45 a.m. at Paradise Point, a staging area just east of SW 67 Avenue and SW 152 Street. Seniors will enter through the south entrance on SW 67 Avenue, loop through the high school circle and end in the student parking lot, according to the school's announcement.
Party buses are not allowed.
Parents and neighbors who want to watch should park off campus along SW 152 Street and gather in the high school circle. The route runs through the heart of the 31-acre campus at 6855 SW 152 St., near the Charles Deering Estate.
The caravan is the seniors' first time back on campus together after Warrior Week, a required retreat for all high school students that ran Aug. 9–13 at SharpTop Cove. Head of school Scott Jones oversees the pre-K–12 program, which enrolls roughly 1,280 students.
Westminster held the same caravan on Aug. 19, 2024, with identical logistics. In its August 2024 announcement for that year's event, the school called it "our annual tradition of the Senior Caravan to celebrate the first day on campus." The school described this year's edition as a fantastic way to kick off seniors' final year.
