Cutler Bay's Youth Council Committee has an open seat for a student from Cutler Bay Middle School.

The five-member committee advises the Town Council on issues affecting young residents, according to the town's website. The council originally created the committee under Resolution No. 12-63 and Resolution No. 17-05 to gather information on issues of special interest to the town's youth. Resolution No. 22-42 later added a fifth, at-large seat appointed by the Town Council. Four seats are filled by students from Cutler Bay Senior High School, Miami Southridge Senior High School and Mater Academy Cutler Bay. The at-large seat is also filled. Only the middle school position remains vacant.

Under its charter, the committee automatically dissolves once it delivers a final report to the Town Council, unless the council votes to extend it.

Cutler Bay Middle School's administration appoints the student who fills the seat. No application deadline or process details are listed on the town's website.

Councilmember Richard M. Ramirez, who holds Seat 3 on the Town Council, serves as the committee's liaison.

The committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month during the school year at 6 p.m. in Suite 220 at Town Hall, 10720 Caribbean Blvd. The town's calendar does not yet list an October meeting. The next posted date is Tuesday, Nov. 17.
